#MyCurvesMyFashion: Featuring Chubby Struggles
Published at: May 26, 2017
This is the first kickoff piece in our #MyCurvesMyFashion
Series in which we interview curvy girls about an outfit that took them outside of their comfort zone and made them feel confident and beautiful
"One of the first outfits I wore that really made me feel like a brave curvy beautiful woman was just a little black dress! It showed off A LOT more curves and skin than I was used to, but I decided to be brave anyway. I felt so sexy and amazing in that outfit. I started blogging soon after I took photos in it!
Before I wore this, I was scared to wear anything form fitting. I felt like it would be offensive to show off all my lumps and bumps. I was afraid to be myself. Blogging and fashion give me that extra boost of confidence when I feel like I can't do it alone. Loving what you wear very easily translates into loving the body wearing those clothes. I felt like I could be myself on a grander scale, and every time I put on something fabulous, I get that extra kick!"

About Alex -
My name is Alex, and I’m fat. Originally from California, I currently live in Houston with the loves of my life: Mookie, my yorkie shitzu mix, and copious amounts of pepperoni pineapple pizza. Once divorced, twice suicidal, three times as crazy, I’ve seen some shit. But instead of hiding behind my scars, I’m learning to accept them and embrace them. I want to share my struggles. By being transparent, I can hope to show people the shit I’ve been through and inspire them to glow.
